Cumberland Council announces new Chief Administrative Officer

Cumberland, BC – In early December 2019, Cumberland Mayor Leslie Baird announced, “Cumberland Council has hired Clayton Postings as our new Chief Administrative Officer to begin work early in the new year on January 13, 2020.”

“Clayton joins us from Ladysmith, where he served as Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture for a period of six years (2013-2019) and before that with the District of Saanich for five years (2011 -2015) where he served as Manager of the G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre. Clayton has also worked in the private sector with a company which operated P3 ice sheet facilities in Ontario and North Vancouver,” said the Mayor.

Mayor Baird further added, “Clayton was an outstanding candidate in this robust competition during which time we received resumes and expressions of interest from over 75 candidates. During our recent weekend of interviews, we interviewed four candidates from western Canada. Clayton was the unanimous choice of the Interview Committee, which was composed of all members of Council.”

Council had recently engaged James R Craven & Associates (now Tall Trees Search & Recruitment) for this nation-wide executive search for Cumberland’s next CAO and the work has been ongoing throughout the summer with Council’s close collaboration.
