THE OPPORTUNITY
The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) is currently seeking an experienced and relationship-focused Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). This is your opportunity to lead a diverse organization that serves vibrant communities across the West Kootenay and Boundary regions, managing all RDKB operations, staff, services, and strategic initiatives.
As the CAO, you will provide expert guidance to the Board of Directors, ensure that bylaws and policies are implemented effectively, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability across the organization. Along with your degree in a relevant discipline, you also have ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in the public sector and have managed staff in a unionized environment. You know how to guide public consultation processes, and you have a reputation as someone who works well with business groups, community leaders, and First Nations.
ABOUT THE RDKB
Incorporated in 1966, the RDKB is a local government that serves 33,433 in the southeastern BC Interior. Our region stretches across 8,200 square kilometres from Champion Lakes in the east to Bridesville and Big White in the west and runs south along the Canada/US border. We provide 73 services ranging from recreation and culture, planning and development, building inspection, bylaw enforcement, water systems, waste management, environmental programs, economic development, public safety, and emergency management.

The salary for the role will be up to $227,293 annually, commensurate with experience. We offer an earned day off (flex) schedule as well as a full health and wellness benefit package.
