The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is the regional government serving approximately 32,000 residents of the Sunshine Coast. A natural paradise blessed with mild winters, beautiful surroundings, and showcasing the best aspects of outdoor adventure, arts, and culture. Bordered by rugged mountains and blue ocean waters, situated on a peninsula (not an island) in the territories of the shíshálh (Sechelt) and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) First Nations, this is the Sunshine Coast. Position Overview
As the ideal applicant, you are a respected leader with a solid background in local government and are comfortable working with and taking direction from a Board of elected officials. You are an effective communicator and collaborator with the proven ability to inspire, strengthen and empower a high-performing team. A strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, you also have the proven ability to actively anticipate, thoroughly assess, and effectively engage in the ongoing management of risk. An ethical professional, you conduct yourself with integrity and diplomacy even under pressure. You have a track record of developing solid relationships, creating strategic alliances, and nurturing existing partnerships within and throughout the community that you serve.
Along with your degree in a relevant discipline, you also have ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in the public sector and have managed staff in a unionized environment. You have a reputation as someone who works well with business and community leaders, interacts appropriately and respectfully with First Nations, and knows how to lead public consultation processes. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
The SCRD offers a competitive salary starting at $195,543 up to a merit maximum of $248,341 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefit package.
