Location
The Village of Fraser Lake is nestled in the heart of some of British Columbia’s most beautiful scenery on the traditional territories of the Nadleh Whut’en, Stellat’en, and Cheslatta First Nations. With over 170 lakes within a 100 km radius, the area is a playground of water and natural wonderland, with a population of just over 1000. The Village is 1.5 hours west of Prince George, located in Regional District of the Bulkley-Nechako.
Duties
Reporting to Mayor and Council, the Village is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer to handle the overall management of the Village’s daily operations. You will display leadership in all aspects of your work, including leading employees, Mayor and Council, and key community stakeholders in pursuing Council’s strategic objectives. You are someone who will appreciate life in a small community and serving as an ambassador of our area.
Requirements
- Relevant degree, diploma, and/or certificate in Public / Local Government Administration or another area of study relevant to local government.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in public administration at a senior management level.
- Knowledge of municipal bylaws, policies and procedures and of relevant provincial statues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with the public and to maintain good labour management relations.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and to deal with people in a tactful, non-judgemental manner.
- Class 5 Driver’s licence.
