Are you looking for a unique and exciting opportunity to lead the Village of Lytton in rebuilding the community? Lytton Mayor and Council are looking for the right person to take on this once-in-a-lifetime challenge of creating a vibrant, resilient, and historical Village.
Location
With the acknowledgement that it is on the territory of the Nlaka’pamux peoples, the Village of Lytton is located 3 hours north of Vancouver, or 2 hours west of Kamloops. As the CAO, you will begin your new role working remotely, but will be close enough to Lytton to attend in-person meetings whenever needed.
Duties
You are a visionary: a strategic thinker with a proven, successful track record managing in a small to midsize local government. With your excellent communication skills, you are able to provide a clear picture to any audience, and you understand the importance of ensuring others in the room feel heard. Filling the duties of both CAO and Corporate Officer, your role will involve:
- Working closely with Mayor and Council, providing sensible advice that will drive sound decision making.
- Managing the constantly evolving day-to-day affairs of the community.
- Coordinating and directing the rebuilding efforts of the Village, utilizing superb human resources skills and political acumen.
- Developing and maintaining trust between the Village office, key stakeholders, First Nation partners and the community at large.

Requirements
- A relevant combination of experience and education, preferably in Public Administration or a related discipline; and at least five years progressive experience working in a municipal setting.
- A high degree of professionalism; and direct experience working with the general public, community groups, all levels of government, and First Nations partners.
- A thorough knowledge of appropriate statutes, bylaws, regulations, policies, and legislation related to the successful operation of a municipality.
- Ability to function as a leader, supervisor, and mentor to staff; and to support organizational resilience.
- Demonstrated ability to bring people together and effectively facilitate discussions.
