THE POSITION – A PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN A DYNAMIC TEAM

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior finance position appointed as the Financial Officer for the municipality and is responsible for those responsibilities assigned under the Community Charter. You will provide financial advice and assistance to senior management in the development of the financial plans, produce finished documents and participate in their presentation to Committees and Council. The CFO is responsible for organizing and directing all the financial services and purchasing functions.

 

As CFO, you will also provide positive and creative leadership to the team comprised of the Manager of Financial Services, Supervisor of Financial Planning and Procurement, Procurement and Contract Specialist, Accountant and Accounting Clerks. With your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you have the proven ability to maintain a department with the knowledge, skills, flexibility and commitment to deliver top quality service to the community. The CFO attends all Council Meetings and provides investment and financial policy advice to the Chief Administrative Officer and to Council.

 

THE REQUIREMENTS – A TRACK RECORD OF EXCELLENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance.
  • Accredited Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA, CMA or CA) designation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior finance role and seven (7) or more years’ experience in a municipal environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


THE PROCESS – AN INVITATION TO APPLY

The role offers an annual wage range of $133,315 – $153,000.
